A bit about your hostess!

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. My name is Kait and I am a Baker by name and a Baker by nature!

Like many people, baking has been the center of my family for as long as I can remember. It all started with the lick of a batter covered spoon and my sweet tooth was hooked! Each summer, me and my brothers and cousins would spend days with my grandma, baking Queen of Hearts tarts and butterfly cakes. As a teenager my brownies became a hit with the family and are still being made for birthdays and BBQ’s all year round and whilst studying at University, I baked countless cakes for friends birthdays, including a few vegan and gluten free ones too!

By writing a blog, I hope to encourage more people to get baking and here are a few reasons why you should!

  • Get yourself and your kids away from the computer screens and be more productive!
  • It helps teach your kids maths (through measuring ingredients), science (through the baking process) and problem-solving skills, because something will always go a bit wrong at first!
  • You know exactly whats going into your lovely treats!
  • You make less plastic waste!
  • It’s so cheap!
  • Your house will smell DELICIOUS!

In this blog, I will be taking you on a journey to three different rooms in my house:

Kitchen: In here I will tell you about the sweet treats that I have been cooking up recently and tell you the recipes that I found work the best!

Dining Room: In here I will tell you the recipes to any homemade dinners that I prepare for my family so that you can do the same! As a graduate, you can expect some budget meals too.

Living Room: In this room, feel free to grab your lunch and a cuppa and relax with a casual chat! Here we will talk about food that I’ve tasted locally, across the UK and abroad too – feel free to let me know your favourite places, I’d love to know what I’m missing out on. I’ll also talk about the best ways to spend your evenings, be it a ‘Treat Yourself Tuesday’ or a ‘Self-care Sunday’!

So please, make yourself at home and let me know if you want to see me bake anything in particular! I might be a beginner but I’m eager to learn.
